FIVE

Madelyn,
I don't even know where to begin.
You are brave and kind. You are strong willed and oh so stubborn.
You are timid and silly.

I wish I could keep track of all the sweet things you do and say. I try to jot them down to remember, but most of the time I just smile or laugh and wish I could bottle you up at times.

Be-cept is your new favorite word (takes place of the word except)
As well as de-zausted (takes place of the word exhausted)

You LOVE music and to dance.
You would do this all day if I let you, but you always want mommy or daddy to dance with you and we couldn't last all day. :)

You LOVE your cousins more than anything and if I ever ask you if you want to do something and they are involved you never hesitate with your answer. You ask on a weekly basis when you are going to see Lydia, Liam or Jovi. Or if we can meet them at the park or if we can do this or that with them.

You are so excited to meet your new baby brother or sister. You secretly hope it is a baby sister, but I know you would be just as happy to have a baby brother.

You think you know everything.
If mommy or daddy try to tell you otherwise you are very insistent with your answer being correct and not ours.

You LOVE school (thank goodness).
I would have a very hard time sending you to school if you didn't love it.
You take your time to meet new people and make friends. I tell myself you are just being selective and making sure you pick a good one, but really I know it is just how you do things. I cannot get you to say a word to a new person... or a person you do not see frequently enough. I hope this timid nature eases up on you a little bit as you get older.  I know it must be hard on you.

You LOVE puzzles. We do at least one puzzle a day. Usually 100 piece or larger. And you still love your cars. If I ever try to rotate your cars out for a little while when we do toy rotation you notice very quickly if I try to take your cars.  Cars never make it to the toy rotation.  They are a constant in your play room.

We love you more than we could ever express and we are so thankful that you were sent to us and get to be a part of our family! We cannot wait to see you in the role of big sister because we know you will be great at it.
Happy 5th Birthday!

Birthday Week

A week filled with Birthday fun for our sweet girl!
I still cannot believe we have a 5 year old on our hands.
She's been talking about how she has never rode a Ferris wheel, so we decided to surprise her and take her to the giant Ferris wheel in Atlanta.
She was beyond thrilled!

We then walked around Centennial Olympic Park and grabbed a PB&J Shake
(a must do when you are in the park).
I brought a change of clothes for her so she could then play in the Olympic fountains...
She didn't want to, go figure (too many kids. Too timid).

We met her cousins and beasties at Jumping World.

Kindergarten

This big girl is a Kindergartener.
I pray for strength for her everyday.
I know she will make so many friends and will be loved by everyone.
I mean, look at that face.
