Walk, Swing, Come

Sometimes I think this girl is speaking Chinese.
At least that's the way it sounds at times.
We just nod our heads and agree to whatever she says.

Lately she's been on a kick for taking walks to the playground
in the front of our neighborhood.
She loves to swing and run back and forth through the tunnel and bridge.
There are also bars hung right above the slides that she hangs from
(I guess her gymnastics skills are kicking in)
But she never wants to actually go down the slide.

She also says 'come' and 'come on' when she wants you to follow her.
It's in the cutest little high pitch voice too.
Sometimes she'll wave her little arm and nod her head right along with it.
I need to get it on video.

Another Spring Photo Preview...

Found this beauty on Facebook this morning...

Oh my word.

The Three Musketeers...

Baby Venice arrived to finally bring the 3 Musketeers together!
(Madelyn, Bryce, and Venice)
They are going to be the bestest of friends.

Madelyn was lucky enough to visit baby Venice
when she was only a few days old.
And of course she had to try to be like mommy
and take a few pictures herself.

Thumbs up.

I've been trying to teach Madelyn to give me a thumbs up.
This is all I get so far.

4.24.2013

Madelyn's new favorite word.
Period.
She says it frequently.
Not quite as frequently as 'mommy'.
I'm thinking of having my name changed...
no, but really 'no' is becoming quite the word these days.
Sometimes I don't even get the question fully out of my mouth before she says no.
It's quite a forceful no as well.
Not a sweet, little, polite no.
I'm even trying to teach her to say 'no thank you'.
Yeah, sometimes her response is 'you're welcome'.

Little knuckle-head.

Artist

Watch out, ya'll.
We have an artist in the works.
She loves to draw, paint, color, you name it.
She's learning her colors and sometimes identifies them correctly.
I still don't know if it's just by coincidence yet or not though.
She seems to mostly get yellow, purple, and green correct.

The Children's Museum of Atlanta

I tell you what...
we have been a busy bunch of bees around here.

Today was a visit to the Children's Museum of Atlanta.
And what a blast that was.
Madelyn did anything and everything
that she was big enough to do.

She dug her hands in the ball pit.

Helped daddy with the wheel to make the balls move.

Sat on a tractor.

Milked a cow.

Went through many tunnels (her favorite).

Played with Moon Sand.
I am definitely going to try to get this for her to play with in the backyard.

She went down many slides.
Not all willingly,
but we did them.

Drove a truck.

More tunnels
(we went through this one at least a hundred times)
Not only was it a tunnel,
but it had ramp leading up to it and a ramp leading down out of it.
I don't know what it is about ramps and tunnels with this girl.

She fished.

And she played with 'choo-choo's'
Notice her fascination with the tunnel...

What a fun day!
We will definitely be returning for more fun!

Big Shanty Festival

We had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with our friends (Garguilo's and Robbins)
at the Big Shanty Festival this afternoon.
One last get together before Teddy and Tony's baby girl arrives.
We thought our last dinner and lunch dates were our last as a group before
Venice arrives, but she seems to be taking her sweet little time.
The guys enjoyed eating.
The girls enjoyed shopping.
And everybody enjoyed the perfect weather!
Here is Bryce and Madelyn being the best of pals that they are:

Spring Photo Shoot

I'm lucky enough to have a sister who takes wonderful pictures
of sweet Madelyn whenever I want,
but I also know she's a busy mom with a family and a full time job.
(Erni Family Photography)

So, I ventured out for this occasion and had an old high school classmate
take some pictures of our sweet girl.
(Stefanie Jayne Photography)

And I just can't get enough of this face!
(more to come when I receive them)

Comfort

This is what I come home to.
Doesn't get anymore comfortable than this, does it?!?

Talent

The girl's got some talent.
What can I say...
She knows she needs a hairbow when we get ready to go out
and she even tries to put it on herself these days if you can't tell...

Georgia Aquarium

Let me just say M was in heaven.
She was basically skipping/jumping/running as we walked in the doors.

This started out as a trip to the Children's Museum of Atlanta,
but sometimes I'm not very good at reading the fine print
and our tickets were not good the week of spring break...
So, instead of driving all the way back home we
decided to take our 'free' trip to the Children's Museum into
spending $80 bucks to go to the Georgia Aquarium.
I tell you what...
they better be taking dang good care of all of those
animals.  That's all I can say.

The trip was well worth it though.
Everything was 'fish' or 'what's that'.

This means hold me of course.
Little one doesn't even ask.
Just puts her arms up.

The girl can be a little skiddish,
but she surprised us by walking right up to the tanks and
leaning against it.

She did a lot of pointing!

The aquarium was stinking crowded like it always is and
I hate crowds, so we breezed right through
the little stuff.  Luckily M doesn't notice these things yet.

I'm not sure she had a favorite part,
but she definitely loved the pengiun, otters, and seals.
I think because they played and interacted with her.
We will probably try the Chattanooga Aquarium next,
maybe take a little weekend trip sometime.

Acworth Beach

Yep. No crystal, blue water here.
No crisp white sand either.
But we still had fun.
Madelyn loved stomping her feet in the water the most I think.

Our First Real Scare...

And hopefully our last.

I had my first encounter ever with calling 911 this past weekend.
To make a long story short...
Madelyn: unresponsive, vomiting, fever spiked.
It is a situation I do not want to encounter ever again.

Good news is:
1. M is absolutely fine.
2. Emergency crew of all kind were wonderful.
3. It is over and done with.

A little background:
I used to have fever seizures when I was little.
 Could be what happened.
Doctors aren't sure, but also aren't worried.
Yay!
Right, doctors aren't worried.
Notice I didn't say anything about her momma and daddy aren't worried.
It scared both of us to death.
How could we not worry.

Matt helped me make a nice little pallet on the floor of her room that night to help us worry a little less.
All was well.
I set my alarm several times through the night to check for a fever and give her meds.
She officially had some type of virus, but other than that nothing else is confirmed.

All is back to normal in this house now.
Thank Goodness!!
