Mommy

I'm officially 'mommy'.
No more 'momma'.
Although 'momma' still sneaks out of her mouth
every now and then.
For the most part it's just 'mommy'.
Bittersweet.

Easter 2013

What a beautiful day we were able to enjoy.
We had the family over on Saturday to enjoy this Easter,
hide some eggs for the little one's,
and of course eat some good food.

Madelyn enjoyed every minute of it...

Okay.  Maybe not every minute.
Beginning the Easter egg hunt was a little overwhelming.

But, then she jumped right in like a pro...
almost.
She had to open every couple of eggs to see what
in the world she was picking up.

And she was a little slow.
This was definitely not a race for her.

She got to spend some special time with her 'pa-paw' and 'pa-paw'...
She's got the grandpa part down.
Unfortunately, grandma is grandpa right now though.

And she got a Madi-Sandwich from her Nana and Papa.

She got to have some special Auntie time too.
Although she misses Auntie Meghan.

She spent much of her time playing with her cousins and just
adores 'shushee' (that would be goosey in Madelyn language) so much.

Happy Easter!

Puppy Love

One of our most favorite places to visit is...
The Pet Store.
It's free fun!

Although it is quite sad and I feel bad for all the animals
I tell myself we are helping keep them happy and give them company
because we try to play with everything in there!
(again- pardon the blurry iphone photos- this
girl cannot hold still sometimes)

I promise no puppies were hurt in the process.

Gymnastics

So our big girl has started taking a gymnastics class
once a week and what a riot that is.
I wish they had open adult play time
because I would have a blast in there!

Okay, but seriously.
Her teacher, Ms. Jennifer, has them work on two different courses
practicing somersaults, balancing, jumping, bar hanging, etc...

At the end they always get open play on the trampolines
and block foam pit.

Then she ends class with sitting in a circle cleaning hands
and giving stamps on their little hands and feet.

What a fun time gymnastic is!
Pardon the blurry iphone photos.
Gymnastics was mostly videoed and she is of course moving non stop.

Nap Time

I don't think there are any words for how incredibley sweet it is to
find your sleeping child like this in her bed.

StoryTime at the Libary

Madelyn and I have been going to the Libary
pretty much once a week to go to StoryTime.

She is actually a really good listener when it comes to StoryTime.
Even if other kiddos are up running around she just
looks at them like 'are you crazy, I'm trying to listen to this story'.

Here she is right before StoryTime saying cheese,
but also being nosey and trying to see the other children
coming to StoryTime with her.

Fun at Nana and Papa's

Isn't there always better food,
toys, and fun at someone else's house...

You'd think so according to Madi!
She is all go, go, go.

 Painting fun and saying 'please'

hanging outside with Papa

Jumping on the trampoline

Jumping with her momma

Worn out bebe.

What are we going to do with him?

So we've been working very hard at not allowing
Jackson on the furniture anymore.

Bad habit to break, I know.
We have been putting things on the couches to prevent him
from jumping on while we are away.

This is where I find him now...

Yes, that is Madelyn's chair.

Where did the birds go?

I caught Madelyn off on an adventure
to find the birds in our backyard.

We have a bird feeder and a bird house in our backyard in which she gets to stare
out the window and watch them.

She says 'awww' when she sees one or uses her little baby voice to
talk to them/or about them.

Dirt

I am loving that this girl loves anything and everything outdoors!
Dirt is probably her #1.

Colors

Every time we get in the bath tub now
that is what she asks for
'colors'.

Happy coloring baby girl.

A Day at the Zoo

This past weekend was Educator Day at the Atlanta Zoo.
It turned out to be a beautiful day at the zoo.
And we even got to spend some time with 'Nana', 'Papa', and
some good friends of ours.

Madelyn has been to the zoo several times already,
but this has been by far our best visit.
I think she is finally at that perfect age.
You can tell her to look at something and she actually knows
where to look and that it's an animal.
She was very excited.

I don't think she really has a favorite yet, but I know she loved
the baby Panda and Tigers.

Bryce and Madelyn sharing snacks at the Zoo.
Bryce and Madelyn checking out the Tigers.

She had to pet EVERY goat in this place.
She wasn't scared one bit by them if you can tell.

What a fun day at the Zoo!
