It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Just trying to decorate our house a little to put us in the holiday spirit.

Our tree!

The stairwell

Hallway entrance

And the stockings were hung by the chimney with care (We need to get Jackson a doggie stocking...but a baby one will do for now)

My least favorite part is taking all of this down and putting it away. Oh well, that's almost a month from now.

We just wanted to wish everyone a...

Matt and I just participated in our first 5k this past Saturday! :) Man oh man did we feel good afterwards. Matt and I both hope to be able to continue with more 5k's here and there. Running has never really been my forte...but who says it can't become that.

This is how we kick it!

I love photographs so it was fun to get out in this beautiful weather and try to take a few good family photos. :)

Halloween 2009

Our big party was last night. We had a blast.

Ok. So we are not really 'couple' matching thist time, but with Matt's beard he has been growing he had to go as a Lumberjack. And I was trying to fit in with the Poe theme a little bit so I was a Black Cat (one of his stories is 'The Black Cat').

Bethany and I (the hosts of the party)- She was a 'Raven'

Deviled Egg Eyeballs

Halloween Cupcakes

I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of Mike. Oh well. Mike, Bethany, Matt, and I were the hosts of the night. We turned their empty basement into a haunted house! Everyone loved. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of it because it was too dark. We've already got more ideas coming for next year's event.

Halloween 2008

Let's compare...

This was our halloween costume for a party we went to last year. I know...corny...but we loved it. We got a few good chuckles (from those who got it right away). Matt was a "Cereal" Killer; I was "Cereal". This year we are hosting the party with our friends and the event is tomorrow. So, I will post pictures of our costumes for Halloween '09 after the party. :)

Rain, Rain Go Away...

We were lucky enough to not have any major flooding problems through this crazy, rainy time...but we did have a nice little waterfall with a mini river in our back yard. Stinks when other people's water runs through your backyard.

The bunnies like our yard; sadly they like our flowers too

Labor Day

So our family decided to make a trek up north and spend the day by the river. Some fished, some ate, some relaxed...and some did it all. :) Here are a few pictures that captured our day:

The Scary Killer Wasp!!

Ok, so it's not really a 'killer' of people but it is called the Cicada Killer Wasp which is a really BIG, gross type of wasp. It was living in our back yard and my husband was finally able to get rid of it...lets just hope it didn't have any little babies. We had to take a picture of it because it was such a big type of wasp. SCARY. I had bad dreams about this thing. Notice in the picture that it is still curled up a little bit and is about an inch and a half long!!!
I hope we don't have anymore of these things living around our house!

Our Favorite Furry Little Friend

Our favorite little boy turned one on August 21st. Happy Birthday Jackson!!

Rock Stream, NY (July '09)

Matt and I have made it back from upstate NY. The drive home was probably the worst part, 14 hours. Beautiful drive, but just ready to be home already. You know the feeling... We spent the week at Matt's grandfather's lake house off of Seneca Lake, one of the finger lakes. We basically spent our days sitting outside talking, reading, and laying out. That's about it. We made it to the wine festival in Watkins Glen and Matt got out in the canoe. I didn't make it out in the water this time. Too cold for me. And the seaweed tickles my legs. The weather was wonderful, but we are happy to be home. Here are a few pictures. They are actually last year's pictures, but it still looks all the same. :)

Good ol' Seneca Lake

Matt and I will be leaving at the end of this week to head up to New York for the week. It is a much needed vacation for the both of us...probably more Matt since I technically have Summer's off. ;) Matt's family has a lake house in up state NY so I still have never been to the city, but we will make it one day. I'll post pictures when we get back.

It is going to be hard staying away from my little niece, Lydia, for a whole week. I don't think I've even gone a day yet without seeing them since she was born. I know she will change so much in that short time. She's changed so much already!

Little Baby Erni

Lydia Grace Erni, my niece, finally graced us with her presence on Tuesday! We were all so happy for her to arrive, she was a week late and we were all having a hard time being so patient. :) Matt and I are now Uncle Matt and Auntie Vic!! Mom and baby are doing well. She is absolutely beautiful and perfect.

Hurry...Hurry...

I just wish that little Lydia would hurry and get here already. Technically my sister is not due for another week and a half, but it could be any day now really. I'll be a first time Aunt and couldn't be more excited for her to get here. I cannot wait to see what she looks like. Wish I had pictures to post for this topic...but I don't.

Housework

I love projects! Mostly I love working on the house...not that there is much to work on, but of course you can always find something you would like to do. Here are a few projects we have worked on with our house. I wish I had before pictures, but basically the before pictures were regular, simple things. Nothing wrong, just plain.
