8 Months

What a silly, little one one we have on our hands.
Madelyn loves getting into the dog water bowl.
She splashes and wiggles her little fingers in it and when you pull her away she gives the saddest little cry like you just broke her heart.
We have learned taking a bowl of water outside and letting her have her way with it is loads of fun.
I guess it is about time for the pool to open or we need to go get a little kiddie pool for her to play around in.
Madelyn is pulling up on just about anything now.
Sometimes she gets stuck up though and fusses because she isn't sure how to get down.
She still loves rubbing that little head of hers, but has now found her hair and will pull it from time to time.
And then cry because it hurt.
This one makes me laugh.
She's back to loving blowing raspberries, but with her tongue now and let me tell you- loads of slobber is what we get now.
She loves to try and get her hands on Jackson's toys.  Gross. She will even try to put them in her mouth.
We are trying to teach her no.
This task is very hard. She either makes us laugh or breaks our hearts.
She will either turn to us and give us the sweetest little smile- or pout and drop the sweet alligator tears.

What more could you ask for...

She's got 2 bottom teeth that are really showing now.
She dances with a little head shake.
And, as of today, she says Momma!

What more could you ask for?!?
I am one proud momma.
Sad picture.
I know.
But, look at those little pearly whites!
Real tears.
Breaks my heart.
I had to snap a few pictures though before picking her up (which was all she wanted).
And a happy one- just to prove- I don't torture her at home.

Spanish Perhaps...

Madelyn's cry.
I don't think I have ever mentioned it before, but let me tell you...
it is a cry that makes you chuckle.

I need to get it on video, but every time I am videoing and I can tell she is starting to get fussy I turn it off.
Thinking to myself 'who wants to watch a video of her crying'.
Of course, then I realize that later we will all want to remember how she cried.

It is quite hard to describe what she does...
She vibrates her tongue.
She sounds like she is rolling her R's.

Matt says she is going to do really well learning Spanish.

Here she is at 7 1/2 months old trying to eat a candy wrapper and her thumb.

**Oh- and Madi-girl is crawling!  This happened as of March 31st.  I wanted to do a special post on this big accomplishment, but the video footage we caught of her first real crawl is on my phone.  One day.

Happy Easter

Madelyn's 1st Easter.
We had family over for lunch.
We were able to enjoy yummy food, the company of others, and beautiful weather!
Madelyn and her Nana.
Madelyn and her Momma.
Madelyn being goofy with her Daddy.

Hope everyone had a very happy Easter!

Orange Beach Baby

A family trip to the beach!
Just what we needed...a little break from everyday life (ie: work).

We headed to Orange Beach, AL.
It was beautiful. The weather was perfect.
We just wished we had of stayed longer.

Madelyn got her toes in the sand and ocean.
She loved wiggling her toes and fingers in the sand.
She has been to the beach before, but this time she was much more observant.

She had her first dip in the pool.
A little scary, by the faces she made.
If we sat her in the shallow end for babies she loved it and just watched everybody.
(I'm sure this helped her feel more secure and reminded her of bath time because she could sit in it.)

I tried walking her around in the water with me and placing her in a baby float.
Both of these made her a little nervous.

We visited the little zoo there.
It was nicknamed "The Little Zoo that Could".
Madelyn enjoyed looking at everything...not sure how much of the animals she really saw, but by the end she was asleep with her little head resting on my shoulder.

All in all a very nice trip.
