Okay.
So, I have not ever told anyone this story,
but back when Madelyn was only a couple months old she was napping upstairs.
I had the baby monitor on while I was downstairs when all of a sudden I hear a toilet flush from the monitor.
Was I creeped out?
Uh, to say the least.
It was just Madelyn and me at home.
I think I sat on the couch just staring at the monitor at first.
My thoughts were literally
"That couldn't have been a toilet..."
"No one is here, but Madelyn and me..."
"Maybe the monitor is screwing up because of cross traffic
or whatever happens if there are multiple monitors on in the area..."
I think I went through every excuse in the book.
I wanted to go upstairs and check on her...
WHY???
I don't know. It's not like some robber
was coming to my house to go upstairs and take a piss.
I knew she'd be waking up soon anyways and if I took a peek
I'd more than likely wake her up.
So, I patiently distracted myself until she woke.
Never really thought anything about it again until
several months later Madelyn and I are playing in her room.
She's playing with her dollhouse and I help show her all the things she can press and move to make noises.
Well, wouldn't you believe, if you lift and close the toilet lid it flushes...
We solved the case of the mysterious flushing toilet!
I was reminded of this funny, little story today as
I'm listening to her nap from the monitor and I hear a toilet flushing.
I think I need to find out how to turn off that toy.
It doesn't do it much, but today it must be having problems
because it has flushed about four times in the past 10 minutes.
Note to self:
Turn off dollhouse.
