Madelyn Claire- 1 week old

I can't believe my baby girl is 1 week old...okay, so this post is late which means she is a couple days past a week old. But, that is okay. Madelyn has had a wonderful first week. I keep telling Matt that I hope he understands how blessed we are. She sleeps through the night, except for her every 3 hour feedings. She usually lets us go one long spurt of sleep at night around 4-5 hours. During the day she has awake moments where she seems to just soak up the world around her. She is so alert when awake and usually has these moments about 3 times a day. Other than that she sleeps and wakes when she needs something whether it be a diaper change or to be fed.

A Whirlwind of a Morning

Little did I know that I would wake up at 12:30am on August 17th with what I knew had to be real contractions. I had been feeling braxton hicks for probably over a month now and everybody had been telling me when it is a real contration I would feel it radiate from my back to the front. This is exactly what I felt. Wasn't too painful...yet. I decided to time them to see if they were consistent at all in timing. They were 10 minutes apart. I tried going back to sleep because I figured at 10 minutes apart...who knows...this could last a day or two. Could not sleep. Go figure. So, I kept timing.

The things people say...

So, I have tried to remember the funny/interesting/nice things people say when you are pregnant...
Here goes what I remember:

Bag Man- "You need help with those groceries?"
Me- No thanks. I think I'm good.
Bag Man- "I think you might need help, you have a condition."

Co-worker- "Girl, she is all up in your face."
"We were talking today about how your belly looks fake earlier today."

39 weeks

WOW! Ok, so I do have a belly. 1 week to go.

Can't Keep Up

So, I've decided to call this post Can't Keep Up because that is how I feel. Not in life...but online. With email- personal and work, facebook, blogs, pinterest (which I am in love with by the way), baby websites, etc... I can't seem to find time to make use of it all. I don't want to be that computer rat sitting there all day in front of the computer, so I pick and choose and spend a few minutes here and there doing things. With that said, my blog has been lacking I must say. I rarely update and when I do I keep it short and sweet. All I can think is 'who really cares anyways?!?!' But then I see all these other blogs that I become envious of because it is like a mini journal for themselves that they can look back on. And I think- I want that! I am not one to divulge in personal info for public eyes to see, but I figured...hey, I can make it as personal as I want it to be...so here I am back to blogging...
for now. :) We'll see if I can keep up with it. I know with little one coming soon we will probably have friends and family that would like a better way of keeping track of us and what better way than this blog.
